Man Wanted For Murder Located By K-9 After I-95 Foot Chase, CT State Police Say

A man wanted for murder was nabbed after taking state police on a foot chase following a traffic stop.

Robert D. Annunziata, 33, of McDonough, Georgia, was arrested around 4:50 p.m., Sunday, July 4, after the vehicle he was in was stopped for speeding in the area of I-95 southbound just south of Exit 92 in Stonington, said the Connecticut State Police.

 Annunziata, who was a passenger in the vehicle, jumped out of the car and ran into a wooded area just north of North Anguilla Road, but was located by K-9 officer Luka, state police said.

A background check found that Annunziata was wanted on a felony warrant for homicide/willful kill with a gun out of Atlanta, state police said.

Annunziata was transported to an area hospital for treatment. of an injured calf.

State Police were assisted by the Stonington Police Department, the Groton Police Department, and the Ledyard Police Department.
